The vision of developing Waters Edge Campground was conceived in early 1990, when people working on highway 37 spoke of travelers asking them if there was any way they could get to the beautiful lake they could see from the highway.
After nearly three years of exploring various sites by snowmobile, ATV and on foot no no avail due to either costly road access, wet soil, making it prone to mosquitoes and poor drainage. An old friend and member of our local First nations suggested our current location. A local draftsman prepared the necessary detailed site plan.
Local contractors supplied equipment and exceptional operators during the initial phase to build the access road and rough in sites. Family members and friends spent countless hours picking rocks and stumps, disposing of brush and hand racking sites.
